A quick recap...

Well it has been a while since our last posting. Here is a quick update…

We enjoyed the company of John, Krysti, MJ and Jessica who visited for a couple of weeks in August. We did some fishing while they were here and Jasmine hooked and caught the fish of the day, a 56cm flathead.

James, Jasmine and I went for a bike ride in the Helensvale area. Jasmine was getting really tired but to her credit kept pushing on. Wasn’t until I got home that I realised we probably rode about 6kms! James did it quite easily. I think Jazz will still be keen to get out for another ride but probably not so far next time.

The weather is gradually starting to warm up here. A couple of weeks ago we swam in the pool. Still a bit fresh but not too bad. I’m looking forward to the water warming up a bit and doing some early morning swims before work and some swimming with the kids after school.

Lani is still going OK with her job. She is hoping to pick up a permanent 3 or 4 day per week job at a local branch close to home.

Dad has just had a hip replacement operation today. When I phoned for an update he was in recovery and there were no complications during the operation. Hopefully he will make a fast and full recovery.

This afternoon Jasmine and I did some door knocking for the Heart Foundation Door Knock Appeal. We only had to knock a small street near our house that Lani knocked last year and received very little in donations, so I was expecting a bad reception again this year. But we found six people home who were very pleasant and collected $35, so we were pretty happy with that. Jasmine really enjoys knocking doors, checking out the different homes/gardens and meeting people.
