Visitors, adventures, termites and DVDs
Krysti and the kids finished their 1 month stay with us on Saturday. We really enjoyed having them visit. Then on Sunday Kim (Lani's mother) arrived for a 2 1/2 week visit to help look after James and Jasmine while Lani goes to Sydney to get some training for her new job next week.
Lani will fly to Sydney on Tuesday and will be doing some "on the job" training with an experienced sales rep on Wednesday and Thursday then on Sunday afternoon she will travel to the Hunter Valley for a sales conference until Thursday. She will be gone for over 1 week! The kids have never been separated from her for more than one night. As Lani has 3 spare days in Sydney due to the Australia Day weekend, Kim has very kindly agreed to look after the kids on her own while I also fly to Sydney on Thursday afternoon straight after work and spend the long weekend with Lani.
A couple of weeks or so ago I discovered some termites in the base of one of our pergola posts. We also have had termites in our backyard fence but they have not concerned me too much. I would like to build a new colourbond fence but the neighbours are really old and don't really care. So we will have to pay all the costs if we want to do it. We have arranged for a pest company to come out tomorrow and kill the termites near the pergola post, check the rest of the home and spray the house for regular household pests.
We have watched a few DVDs lately. Nacho Libre was kind of amusing but I would only recommend it to people who like Jack Black's style of comedy. It has similar humour to Napoleon Dynamite. I also watched Monster House with the kids last night and thought it was a pretty good scary movie for kids.
